Bad Religion – Markovian Process Lyrics 7 years ago
@[psionicz:25800] If i understand correct you suggest that if something is a markovian process it indicates that if something happened once it will happen again. This is not true - the description above from 2002 however is correct. What hapens at the current time period indicates what happens at tomorrows time period - and to be nit picking what happened in the prior time period only affect the comming timeperiod through the current.

If you are suggesting the idea of an attractor (i.e. a process with a time consistent mean, or other moment), then not all markovian processes has this. An example is the classical I(1) process:

y(t)=y(t-1)+e(t), where e(t)=d= N(0,v).

This process has no mean, and in fact not a single fractional moment, and what happened at time t is very unlikely to ever happen again. to be precise, the probability of it happening again is 0.

What the line "just take a look around outside to know what we're about to face" is essentially saying, if we have to combine it with the name of the song is:
That what we do today and how we behave towards each other today and the world will have consequences in the future - and that we should be able to predict these consequences.
