(I'm going off the non Radio Edit version) I believe the song is about a relationship slowly diminishing to nothing but just sex and lust. The song is in the perspective of the man in the relationship remembering how much love he truly felt for his girl. Over the years the girls love began to fade (I feel the girl is a wild type, always wanting a new thrill, while the guy is more laid back and easy) they slowly started drifting away from each other, only really wanting each other when they wanted to pleasure themselves. But the guy didn't want things to end the way they did, he never built up the courage to tell the girl how much he really loved and adored her. They didn't last long, like most young couples. (A lot of this also comes from watching the music video) |
