Ariana Grande – No Tears Left to Cry Lyrics 7 years ago
The start of the song explains how Ariana is in a blissful state of mind and she doesn’t want to change it. She has finished crying herself and hence no more tears left to cry. Breakups, deaths, relationships, life and so many other things could related to this song. But what you can do is, pick yourself up, love yourself and dust yourself and move on-as life does.

Does this mean she is cold hearted? Maybe, maybe not. But the important thing is she is in a process of healing and she loves not to be broken again.

"They point out the colors in you, I see ’em too
And, boy, I like ’em, I like ’em, I like ’em"

‘Colors’ intend to mean the characteristics of a person. We often say no person shows their ‘true colors’ to the world, unless they are put in the spotlight. Flaws and imperfections are part of the deal in human nature. So either you learn to accept them or learn to not get involved with anything at all.

Quote from JustRandomThoughs, "We believe this is a good song with a sensible meaning by Ariana Grande. We cannot help but think “No Tears Left to Cry” was also inspired by the tragic bombing incident that happened at the Ariana’s 2017 ‘Dangerous Woman’ concert in Manchester in 2017."

Dodie Clark – Intertwined Lyrics 7 years ago
I had a completely different interpretation of the song. I saw it as a confession of homosexuality and fear of prejudice.

At first it was a sweet, romantic song about a couple intertwined by their bodies (cuddling in bed).

"Safe from the world though the world will try" made me think that perhaps it was a gay couple, that the world was going to try and 'get into'/stop their relationship. The couple felt safe in bed but knew the outside world was against them (ie. homophobic people). The thoughts of the reaction plays on the speaker's mind, stopping them from having a peaceful time with their lover.

The "drink all my thoughts" part again linked to this because I thought that perhaps the speaker was afraid of the reaction that people (family, friends, strangers) would have when they told them they were homosexual. They didn't want the thoughts of people's reactions constantly on their mind; they're asking for comfort and protection from their partner.

"I've pinned each and every hope on you, I hope that you don't bleed with me" made me think that the speaker put everything into this relationship and also has a fear that the relationship won't work out. They don't want the other person to get hurt like they have by the prejudices of people around them, not wanting them to metaphorically 'bleed' as well.

The song finishes on a happy note, as the speaker comes back to the present moment where they can "laugh away the fear" and not worry about what the outside world thinks; they have their partner, and that's all that matters.
