Kodaline – Unclear Lyrics 7 years ago
When I first listened to this song it honestly brought me to tears and it still does most times I listen to it “when to move on and when to let it go” just plain and simple is about the sadness and uncertainty about when to let the person you know you have to let go go it’s about hanging on to the hope of the chance that the person you have unrequited love for will turn around and tell you they love you back or an ex that you still have feelings for it’s the uncertainty in not knowing if an ex or crush or person you love loves you back and it’s about the ache you get in your chest when finding out they’ve moved on or the just complete uncertainty (sorry I keep using that word) if not knowing if they feel the same but also the feeling of reject of finding out they don’t and the feeling of embarrassment of loving someone who doesn’t give it back “so you swallow your heart and you swallow pride” by swallow they mean hide or loose you loose your heart soul pride and even joy holding onto someone who doesn’t feel the same or from hiding your feelings for them scared of knowing the truth in how they feel towards you

Mumford & Sons – Little Lion Man Lyrics 7 years ago
In my opinion after constantly listening to this song after a bad break up I believe this song is about a male character realizing now after messing it up with the girl of his life for the girl of the night that he’s sorry and only now beginning to comprehend how much he’s after hurting his current relationship with his love now only realizing the pain and torment he’s caused her . “Weep for yourself my man , weep little lions man your not as brave as you were at the start” I believe he’s referring to himself in third person explaining how falling in love has changed him and the love she was showing him frightened him away as he didn’t think he would fall inlove now he sees her moving on he realizes he loves her and he’s not as strong as he was before he fell in love and in a way it’s made him weaker for the better “and it was not your fault but mine and it was your heart on the line I really fucked it up this time didn’t I my dear ? Didn’t I my dear? “ I think this is a plead for forgiveness asking the same question twice almost humorous as if he’s meant to be forgiven and asking a second time almost hoping for her to turn around and say it’s okay , I believe the 2 where not together but just recently broken up and they were trying to figure things out and possibly getting back together until he made the mistake of choosing another woman soon after realizing it was a mistake “ I really fucked it up this time” insinuating this isn’t the first time he’s hurt her romantically and that she’s forgiven him in the past but this time he realizes he’s really hurt her and admitting he’s in the wrong and almost coming to terms with the fact he’s gone too far this time but still hoping she can forgive him as he’s just now discovering his love for her
