I am quite surprised nobody mentionned this but for me, the meaning is clearly about adolescence. The season of thunder; little angels growing wings of pain. It is related to the passage from childhood to the more turbulent teenage years. The parents don't want the child to bring them down. The teenager will not walk the line. Read the lyrics back while keeping this in mind and it does fit to almost every line |
