I believe this song is about an abusive or toxic relationship. It lists signs of toxic relationships, the chorus, for example: “we must never be apart” that’s the way that many toxic people think in relationships. “Pull those crooked teeth, and you’ll be perfect just like me.” Once again, something someone emotionally abusive would say or think. However, I think the true debate is who is the abuser and who is the victim. Maybe it’s someone the artist knows, maybe it’s the artist recognizing that they are abusing, or are being abused. Either way, I think it’s an amazing song. |

I think this song is about how fear changes people, and turns them cruel. I believe it also talks about how religion circulates and uses fear, and that they are trying to escape their religion, but feel fear too. |

I believe this song is about being or feeling free, and wishing others could feel the same. This is suggested by the use of the jungle, which we think of as a pretty wild place, and a monkey which we see as a very wild, carefree creature. Then, the part about wishing others could feel free, is suggested by the mention of being tied to a tightrope, and bei a big bird in a small cage. However, it might also be mocking those who aren’t living freely, and trying to tell the world to wake up, loosen up, and live a little. |
