Either this is Styx getting ready for on stage, or them getting ready for take-off. (The album this came from, "The Mission" is a concept album about a crew of 6 people in the year 2033 going on a mission to mars)

Personally, I think that this is about Dennis DeYoung and part of the reason why he left Styx. (This song and album "Cyclorama" was released in 2003, 4 years after DDY left) He wanted to be the boss of everything, and here, Tommy Shaw, James Young (JY), and possibly Todd Sucherman are saying that if he wanted to stay, ya had to do things our way. Thats just how it goes. "You've had me by the little hairs, running here and there and everywhere." Thats Dennis bossing them around because he wants to be the leader. I think this whole album is great, but This is my favorite song!
