Supertramp – Goodbye Stranger Lyrics 7 years ago
At first, I thought what most people thought this song meant. It was about a girl and the main singer having to leave her after a tour. But in fact, after doing some research, I found out that this song is actually about the lead singer quitting smoking marijuana. As he says in the song, “goodbye Mary, goodbye Jane, will we ever, meet again, feel no sorrow, feel no shame, come tomorrow, feel no pain.” Mary Jane isn’t a reference to a girl, it’s a reference to pot. Now if you replace Mary Jane with marijuana, it makes sense. There’s more in this song that explains it and I’m sure once you hear it again, you’ll see what I’m saying.

Lloyd Cole & The Commotions – Down on Mission Street Lyrics 7 years ago
I’m slightly surprised that no one has said anything about this song yet. I think the meaning behind this song is pretty obvious. It’s about a guy who is abusive to his wife/girlfriend, named Julie. Good song, surprised no ones talked about it yet!

Pink Floyd – When the Tigers Broke Free Lyrics 8 years ago
Many people hate this album in particular because this was Roger Waters album. He was the only one who really wanted to do this album, I personally love it, and I’d just like to point out that when he says tigers, he’s not talking about the animal, he’s talking about German tanks in ww2. Fantastic song, fantastic album.

Supertramp – School Lyrics 8 years ago
Go listen to Pink Floyd’s Another Brick In The Wall part 2 and you’ll see how both these songs mirror each other. There both about (as far as I know) the old schooling system in Britain, where everyone was supposed to act accordingly. There was no speaking out, and no creativity, and both of the songs I’ve listed talk about that. In this song, Roger Hodgson says multiple times how your coming along, he’s speaking like the teachers do. If you follow the golden rule (which he also mentions) then you’ll turn out just like everyone else.
