I feel like this song is about trying to comprehend Earth, the universe, humans, and the visible and invisible connection between them all. Key parts are "the indivisible goose egg, irreplaceable loose peg" in the first verse, and the coming variations in the chorus "paper tigers at play." "Alpha Beta erased, architecture opaque". The next verse refers to the curiosity we have for our universe, and struggling to grow to a point where we can understand it: "A kamikaze seed Breaks ground Sprouts up inside of me Spreading down It poked into my eye Cracked the egg Now there's a tentacle Growing limb-like eggs." and the final part, which brings to mind the Starchild sequence from 2001 (as quite a few Cynic songs do) - "Sit down Behold the open crown Through the eternal halls An earth midst the balls One spark Shooting across the dark Fear, craft and avarice Become a dust filled wish" My 2 cents |
