I think the meaning of the song is fairly straightforward. As for the title, I think it being called "Seven" may be just a lazy (albeit slick) title in reference to the majority of the song being play in 7/8 time. Off the top of my head, Dreaming Tree is the only other Dave song I can think of that is play exclusively (or almost exclusively) in 7/8 time. Dave's of course well known for taking this simplistic approach to song titles before (#34, #40, #41, That Song that Jane Likes, etc...) |
