This is 4 years late, but maybe it has to do with the album’s title: Guitar Gangsters and Cadillac Blood. The song speaks about a struggling boy to keep himself and his mother afloat. Perhaps “Mr. Cadillac Blood” can work as a metaphor to either: a wealthy business man that took pity on the boy, or an old-fashioned 1930’s-1940’s gang leader, I believe the latter is slightly more fitting due to the album’s overall feel. The song also mentions religion (heaven) and the ways to what I can interpret as salvation for the boy’s mother, and redemption for the boy/man himself. These are my two cents, I hope that whoever reads this finds it helpful or interesting in the least. |
