@[heyjude55:35287] There's acoustic guitar on the recording. Just three chords. |
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Backwoods Lyrics | 3 years ago |
This song is real easy to play on guitar. It's mainly just 4 chords. The solo is pretty easy too. Learning it by ear so it's taking me a little longer but I think I got it down. |

Cold – Cure My Tragedy Lyrics | 3 years ago |
My father got colon cancer a few years back and eventually died in November of last year. I would listen to this song and album a lot during that period. 3 days ago I got a phone call that my best friend died from what was believed to be a diabetic shock (no one even knew he was diabetic). I've been playing this album and especially this song ad nauseam in the past couple of days. It's cathartic and it really helps me out in dark times. I seen a lot of death in my lifetime so I know how it feels. Thank you, Cold. |
Cold – Anti-Love Song Lyrics | 3 years ago |
I have no idea, is he talking about the Catholic Church and Priests/Preachers raping children? And the Priests trying to convince the kids that they're "getting saved"? ("I won't get used to this, these motherfuckers SAVED ME!") And then then big controversy showing up on the news ("I heard the news today, these stuck-up suckers "RAPED ME!") Although I think this album came out a little before the whole scandal was made public, so I'm probably wrong. I just can't think of any other meaning to this "Anti-LOVE Song". |

@[Dan:34652] Damnitall You sure it wasn't "No One" that he said was about his mother? |
Cold – Just Got Wicked Lyrics | 3 years ago |
When Cold plays this song live, they cut out the second chorus and go straight into the bridge after the "1,2,3" part. Maybe the band thought the album version was a little repetitive? |

@[no1careshuiam:34609] Sorry I meant to post that as an OPINION, not song meaning. |
Faith No More – The Jungle Lyrics | 3 years ago |
I like how Chuck goes into snippets of "Dress You Up In My Love" by Madonna and "Shout" by Tears For Fears at the end of the live version from SF in '86. It shows us that Patton wasn't the one who originated that schtick. |
Faith No More – We Care A Lot Lyrics | 3 years ago |
@[bongo:34606] Roddy wrote most of the lyrics, Mosley wrote the chorus and the "Garbage Pail Kids/Transformers" lyrics. (Roddy wore the original "Cabbage Patch/Mr. T. part) |
Faith No More – Faster Disco Lyrics | 3 years ago |
Reading the lyrics again, it might be talking about fame, and trends using the metaphor of a vampire "sucking away people's lives", "leading them blind", like how people tend to blindly follow celebrities and shape their whole lives around them. Until the next big thing comes along and they "leave you no mind", or stop caring about trends and celebrities that are no longer in the limelight. And the celebs' lives depend on the public's interest to keep them making money and whatnot. That's just my interpretation, I don't know if Chuck Mosley's lyrics were that deep or whatnot. I know Mike Patton said when he (Mike, not Chuck) wrote lyrics he just kind of threw words together that sort of stuck to a theme, but didn't actually have a concrete meaning in the grand scheme of things. I personally believe that Chuck was a little deeper with his lyrics, but I could be wrong. I know that some people think Chuck is/was a hack, but I personally think that there was a little bit more going on (lyrically, I mean) in Chuck's head. (R.I.P.) |

Nirvana – Downer Lyrics | 3 years ago |
@[Foundation4life:34594] Because back when Incesticide was released, not too many people owned "Bleach" and Kurt felt that more people should hear the song (and more people were likely to by Incesticide, since Nirvana were now huge and the masses were more likely to buy anything they released afterword). |

Nirvana – Paper Cuts Lyrics | 3 years ago |
@[lucid_dreamer:34584] Weeeeeeeeeellllllll...I I think the last part of the song "And very later I have learned to accept some friends of ridicule....", etc. is saying that he's now out of the situation, but still isn't any better off. He can't adjust to a normal life because he hasn't lived a normal life. He feels cut off from everyone around him and feels that he can't relate to anybody, because they haven't been through what he's been through. He feels like a freak and maybe even feels like they are mocking him or just harshly judging him and he's traumatized and has fears and flashbacks of the time when he was basically a prisoner. He's scared to get close to anybody, and might even have to make his own "friends" in his head because no one else understands him. Trauma like that is serious shit. Anyway that's just what I get from those lyrics. |

Limp Bizkit – Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle) Lyrics | 3 years ago |
Wes Borland uses a similar "Whammy Bar Dive" in this song that was used in "Hot Dog". Usually guitar players use it on the higher notes when soloing, but Wes uses it on the lower chords. |
Limp Bizkit – Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle) Lyrics | 3 years ago |
@[LL_Cool_Gray:34560] I wouldn't say the Chili Peppers lyrics are profound. A lot of them sound like random rhymes that were thrown together (with the exception of some songs like Under The Bridge). I love the Chili's by the way (pun intended!). |

AC/DC – You Shook Me All Night Long Lyrics | 3 years ago |
One time I went to a strip club with my friends. I was wearing my AC/DC Back In Black cap. I was tossing bills to the girls and this song came on, so one of the girls pulled me in by the brim of my hat and I got a face full of boobage. It seemed like she was really into me. Any way later after we left I looked in my wallet and my $10 bill was missing. Oh, shit! No wonder she was so nice! Well that's my story, hope y'all enjoyed it. |

Fuel – Slow Lyrics | 3 years ago |
I'm pretty sure he's using metaphor of a wilting garden for a lost love. Pretty poetic, but not hard to figure out. |
Fuel – Going to California Lyrics | 3 years ago |
Update: I heard fuel's version and it is pretty good. Pretty faithful to the original, though I think this version's in standard tuning while the original was in Double-drop D tuning. Brett can't hit the high notes that Robert Plant did, but he maneuvers around them nicely and it still sounds good. Good job guys! (I might try to submit their version of "Daniel" myself if I could, as it's the only bonus track from this album that's not on the site yet. Peace!) |
Fuel – Empty Spaces Lyrics | 3 years ago |
For some reason I get the feeling that it's about someone with amnesia, and they're trying to fill the empty spaces in their memory to figure out who they really are. Brett sings it awesomely, by the way. |
Fuel – Hemorrhage (In My Hands) [Acoustic Version][*] Lyrics | 3 years ago |
Simply the acoustic version of the original song, although it's still the same vocal, drum and possibly bass guitar track, with only the guitars rerecorded as acoustic instruments. (and there's no string arrangement on this one). If you want an interpretation of the song's meaning, I submitted one on the original track's lyric page. |
Fuel – Hemorrhage (In My Hands) Lyrics | 3 years ago |
Somehow I get the feeling that he's talking to a suicidal person, someone he loves. She keeps saying that her life is a total drama, and everyone acts fake to her "She cries her life is like some movie black and white. Dead actors faking lines." (she might have declared those people as dead to her.) And he's telling her, "Don't fall away and leave me to myself...leave love bleeding in my hands," don't commit suicide, it'll hurt me too much. That's what I get out of it. |

Limp Bizkit – Hot Dog Lyrics | 3 years ago |
The song also borrows aspects from Suicidal Tendencies "You Can't Bring Me Down" in both the guitar riff and the lyrics in the bridge. Wes uses the whammy bar on his guitar to great effect on the riff (he uses it while playing the lower notes on the 6th string while it's more traditionally used on the higher notes while soloing). He uses it similarly in Rollin' (Air Raid Vehicle). |

Limp Bizkit – Full Nelson Lyrics | 3 years ago |
Wes used the same custom-made 4-String guitar that was used on "Nookie" to play his parts on this song. It was tuned to F# (octave down)-F#(octave up)-B-E. Saliva have a song called "Badass" that uses the same "Mouth's writin' checks that your face/ass can't cash!" line in it. Probably a coincidence. |
