I have always just been in stunned amazement at her incredible voice and a natural sex appeal that is incredible without being overt. I watched the video both when it came out and recently and I now see the something that has been bothering me about it for some time. The mystery he is building, may be related to his setting up his razor wire shrine. We don't know what cross he had, celtic, or otherwise because it's never shown. There are two scenes in the video that are very disturbing. For some reason I seem to have ignored them for all this time. The guy actually climbs into a house where there is obviously the aftermath of a birthday party and everyone appears to be gone but a little girl who is passed out strangely on the dinner table. He takes a candle from her birthday cake, which is still burning. In the next scene, he is standing by the burning wreckage of a house and collecting one of those glowing gems he has been hoeing it in to a absurdly oversized dress that looks like it's two or three times too big and would require stilts to wear it. The dress is totally black with thousands of gems of this nature on it. The razor wire shrine is a disturbing line, but more disturbing is the behavior of this unchristian man who appears to have murdered the little girl by poisoning? her birthday cake and then lighting her house on fire with her still burning birthday candle and then harvesting her "soul"? for the dress and walking it back to his non-christian church. He suddenly takes on an incredibly evil demeanor. I guess the other disturbing image is his totally exaggerated "sewing" gesture. Thoughts? Many of these songs do indeed seem to be driven from a satanic heart. I am disturbed by them now. |
