@[NataliesADDICTION:39291] Wasn't thinking... he was acting as a conduit to Truth... creating is different than thinking. |

@[pumkinhed:39290] Not literal... any animal or seal as in a mark on manuscript that represents authority... probably not an animal at all. |

@[Thunderbolt:39289] The Phoenix is about death of all that you "know" and you thought you were in order to be born into the possibility of all that REALLY is... not what you thought or were told... |

@[joey108650:39288] Yep... that's pretty much it. Like all great sages... Bernie didn't know what he was saying... just a conduit. |

| Aerosmith – Toys In The Attic Lyrics | 4 years ago |
|
Song is referring to how our crazy human minds (toys in the attic) filter things and mess up reality in a higher spiritual level. In the attic lights - The light of our minds's perceptions/awareness Voices scream Nothing's seen Real's a dream - inner voices fight to be heard, we miss the real of here and now, what we think is real is not. Leaving the things that are real behind - missing reality in our toys in the attic state Leaving the things that you love from mind - our minds screw up/twist what we naturally and truly love All of the things that you learned from fears - living in a reactive fearful state, Nothing is left for the years - we have nothing of real value to show GREAT song! Many of the 70's rock songs are VERY insightful. Maybe it was from the drugs... |

| Talking Heads – Burning Down the House Lyrics | 4 years ago |
|
Whether or not Byrne admits it or knows it or was "possessed" by spiritual insight at the time... this song is exactly about destroying the EGO (the house) and getting to the seat of consciousness, the true Self. All verses make total sense: There is conflict or lack of clarity or incomplete solutions... a rain coat, staring into the TV set, coming in 1st place, going to work. Then the solution: Burning down the House... or Fighting fire with fire Here's your ticket pack your bags Time for jumping overboard The transportation is here Close enough but not too far Baby, you know where you are Fighting fire with fire The song's message is your ticket. you know where YOU are but can't see it thru the ego. Need to pack up your baggage and take a leap of faith "overboard" Then the reference to Three Hundred Sixty-Five degrees has NOTHING to do with heat... it is geometry, 360 degrees means this issue is literally all around you. I think Byrne knew exactly what he was saying, but didn't want to spoon feed the unenlightened. |

| Led Zeppelin – Over the Hills and Far Away Lyrics | 4 years ago |

Also, the meaning of this song is Over the Hills and Far Away... out of sight and difficult to see. One must journey to get "there". Many times I've loved (believed, known, been enamored with "getting it"), many times been bitten (wrong, missed the mark, discovered my disillusionment) Many times I've gazed along the open road (aimlessly lived without direction or being unconscious. Possibly just being open to discovering...) Many times I've lied, many times I've listened. A re-hash of the first verse... (lied to self, missed the mark, maybe even spread the "truth". Also, fallen prey to the same stuff). Many dreams come true, and some have silver linings I live for my dream, and a pocket full of gold. (Materialism has some ups. So, I keep living the dream while missing the mark, the point of life). Mellow is the man who knows what he's been missing Many, many men can't see the open road (Mellow, Peace comes when one discovers what they have been blind to... hidden over the hills and far away...). As for the last phrases... see my post below |

Don't lose sight of the deliberate message. How many times is the word MANY in this song? 10, ten... in a short song. It is all about "many" Hey Lady, you have the love I need, maybe more than enough... Lady is the the inner soul, the inner Self. Many is a word that only leaves you guessing Guessing 'bout a thing you really ought to know.... there is no MANY (stop trying to figure everything out, guessing) it is all ONE, in the universal sense. No separation, no this or that, no duality. That is all just mind stuff. There is only ONE. |

| The Beatles – Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da Lyrics | 4 years ago |
| It doesn't matter what happens in the details of our daily life, who does what, what roles are played or by whom.... life goes on... so, lighten up and enjoy the ride... before it is over. | |
| The Rolling Stones – Sympathy for the Devil Lyrics | 4 years ago |
|
The Devil is inside and fear of Death (loss) gives that devil life.... "what's puzzling you is the nature of my game"... we can't see that the evil is in us... is us and the inevitable future of death (loss) often brings out the worst in mankind. Then, the big reveal... "just call me Lucifer" is a call out to the ultimate projection, blaming someone else, personifying our own inner junk and giving it a disembodied name. "Well, after all it was you and me"... me, myself and I Then, this... "Tell me, baby, what's my name? I'll tell you one time, you're to blame" The puzzling nature is why do we do all these things to ourselves and others and not realize that it is US, all the time, and we can put a stop to it... cop-criminal, sinner-saint, heads - tails. |

| The Rolling Stones – Happy Lyrics | 4 years ago |
| The verses are various life situations aptly discussed already. The main message of the song is seen when "love" = passion, a drive and when "baby" = to be born newly every moment, live each moment like there is no past, no regrets, nothing but opportunity. Doubt this? Then, why during the fade when leaving the final message? ... Happy, now, now, now, now, now keep me and ... Happy, my, my, my, keep me? | |
| Jethro Tull – Up To Me Lyrics | 7 years ago |
| The theme of the lyrics seems to be mundane things that happen in a life. Always comes back to "up to me". Things happen.... sometimes, what happens is up to me... I had a say, cause in the matter. But always comes back to "up to me" refers to what I make what happened MEAN. THAT is always "up to me". Little, big, seemingly insignificant, ALL OF IT. | |
