This song is clearly about being exposed to concepts of Christianity at a young and vulnerable age. He speaks of the promises of a changed and fulfilled life in exchange for a pledge of total loyalty. This is followed by "False eyes, forked words. I'm ten." Obviously he's implying that he was 10 years old when he was exposed to what he now perceives as lies. "Now that I see you're just a man recruiting your followers." I believe the "two words" are "have faith." I grew up in the church and it's the first thing that popped in my head when I read the words. |
