It could also relate to military personnel when they deploy on operations basically saying that no matter what wherever they are they are always in the heart and memory of there wife and kids |

I agree with all the comments about it being about loss etc but it also resonates to me by how it feels when you suffer from all of above and also PTSD as I know from personal experience when you have PTSD you feel as if nobody gives a s##t |

I agree wit you on that interpretation so well said but I’d like to further onto your comment by saying that could it also be about a member of the military or a veteran who suffers from ptsd and has tried therapy and meds etc but they still can’t cope with it I only say that as I’m ex British military also a sufferer of ptsd and this song in my eyes is exactly what it feels like for example I can’t be around loud bangs such as fireworks due to it causing me flashbacks @[JustAnOldSoul:30546] |

In my opinion this song is about anyone in the military who have family back home and can’t be there physically but they are always there mentally but it could also be construed that it’s about a service person who died on operations and as long as there family keep them in there memory they will never fully be gone |

I am ex BRITISH military and I agree that this track apart from rocks has got it to a tee what war is like if it wasn’t for members of the armed forces the terrorists would walk all over us and war is mostly the only resort a government can use to defend against all enemies foreign or domestic does none of you watch the news about home grown terrorism |

It seems to me he is singing about having a drinking problem and the how it effects his life but it also appears to suggest suicidal tendencies because of how much he has messed up his life due to drink |
