This song is a beautiful as it is sad. My interpretation is of a relationship gone wrong. She's trying to let go of his memory, at night it's the hardest to do that. That's when your mind is winding down from the day and the memories seems to flow back. She wishes the shadow of his memory wouldn't darken her mind aka door. She feels loneliness is better for her than keeping those past memories open. It's beautiful because that's part of life. But it's sad to think that someone can have that sort of power over your mind and body. |
