this is my favorite version of this song. the 'god, i miss you' gets me every time. i had heard once that andrew was supposedly singing to the girl this song was written for as she was in the crowd (not sure if that's true or not), but i totally feel it. he is singing to someone for sure vs. every other time i've heard it after this, where he's simply singing about someone. every line is perfect; i love when he sings 'did you know i missed you' which seems to turn into 'did you know i miss you' (past vs. present). i'm in my late-30s and i don't think i'll ever grow out of loving this song. it's so beautiful, the emotions are so raw and i am a long-time fan of mr. macmahon. his evolution as an artist is unparalleled. love him. |

i discovered amy shark a few months ago and am digging her ep. this little song is so sweet. to me, it's about first loves/lusts; that crush you had in high school or college when you just wanted them to talk to you, rub up against your arm, whatever. i love it. brings back memories of kegs of beer in sweaty basements and that feeling of butterflies you get when you see that one person. |
