Either way you look at it, this song it stirs up a lot of emotion, and when it comes to emotions of the heart, Elton John is the Zen Master. I saw this first hand at a wedding. I suggested to the groom I knew personally when he was at odds for a First Dance song at their reception, and I suggested this song be played. I told him if you want an emotional response from your wife on this important event, request this song. To this day, I’ve never witnessed such a raw, passionate display on the part of my friends wife during the dance. Not too many composers have such a talent to bring this out.
