I totally agree with garnetstone. I dont think that this song should be looked upon as being sad, it's there to give death a sense of hope. The way she says she's not afraid and describes it so beautiful and 'white' and thinks that the person she's leaving will meet again in a better world. I doubt this is about suicide though, she doesn't seem to want to leave. |

I think this song is about someone she’s close to, but who doesn’t know that she loves them. Most likely a male friend “how many times have you told me you love her? as many times as i've wanted to tell you the truth.” He tells her how he loves this other girl and she just keeps on pretending that she him only as a friend. This ties in with ‘my immortal’ about loving a friend, but never admitting it that friend dies leaving you regretful. The reason it’s called solitude seems to be because: oooh, solitude...still with me is only you oooh, solitude...i can't stay away from you oooh, solitude...forever me, forever you oooh, solitude...only you, only true basically, if she can’t be with him, she doesn’t want to be with anyone else, so she’s going to live a life alone. That part where she says that everyone leaves her appears to me to be a general dig at everyone else about how lonely she feels I like that line "i love through you, you look through me" best as well... just loving someone so much, but they don't realise how you feel. |

i don't think anyone's mentioned this, but if a christian commits suicide, they are supposed to go to hell. So in the last few lines where it writes: "my wounds cry for the grave my soul cries for deliverance will i be denied Christ" she is stating her worry that she might not be accepted into heaven, and the forgiveness that she wishes from God is that she'll be forgiven for this final sin of taking her life. It also appears that she lost faith for a while. the "betrayal" being to God and the part where she asks "do you remember me/lost for so long" this makes it seem that she stopped believing a long time ago and is only questioning it now that she's bleeding to death. a torniquet is inevitably a means of salvation and in those lines: "My God, my torniquet/return me to salvation" she is showing that she's regained her faith and asks God to allow her to feel that she can be saved... the way she used to feel. The last line: "torniquet my suicide" she wants to be saved from death, the same meaning comes from "crimson regret". |

i think this song is either taking the piss out of how teenagers view love, how they think they're besotted with someone and get depressed as hell when they break up with them or..... it could be making the point that, although 'schoolgirl crushes' are thought of as pathetic, they're more than that: teenage years can be very traumatic as you try to find your path in life, its a highway of confusion and 'a teenager in love' is more easily hurt than an adult so the final effect: a teeneger in love is a very hurtful thing....how many kids have topped themselves over a romance that went wrong? |

I always thought this song was about suicide...hanging from a noose around a tree,which it is but not suicide...but racism "colour blindness" etc but i still don't get the haemoglobin thing.... Haemoglobin is the pigment in red blood cells which attach to oxygen forming oxyhaemoglobin...it's this that gives blood the bright red colour... i dunno maybe it's like he was going thorough some near-death experience and thats what was going thorough his head Ummmm..... probably not! If anyone got an idea...please post it! |

I always thought this song was referring to his friends unhappiness and lonliness rather than his own-infact i'm pretty sure. Like i agree with jellybelly on the 'sticking by his friends no matter what' part but im not sure about them sticking by him. I think is more of a one-way friendship.... his friends are all going down the hill and rather than deserting them, he's trying to guide them. Look that's just my opinion but its linked to what polak said about the impression that girl had on him: Ex girlfriend-she probably hurt him in the past, but she's sad and lonely in need of love and he'll forgive and endlessly give his love to her |

I'm confused :-s Some of the chilis songs are about guys and some are about girls so who are the gay members? Hope this doesn't sound offensive or anything! I'm just curious!!! So impossible: dashboard kick ass! pandoras box: you ever read the modernised story of that?
