I love this song! And it speaks to me deeply now after losing a close friend to a car accident last weekend. This song is open for several interpretations, but to me the 'promises' are translated to future plans we had with our friend. Like, he's supposed to be working out with me this week at the gym, and he was supposed to come over to our house this Friday to hang out. And many, many more plans. I can't keep up my end now because he's no longer here with us. :( |
