Yea, i hear ya Jfreem. I mean, personally, i think they were just trying to rhyme in this song. But honestly, thats the thing about Lyrics... they dont have ONE meaning. sure they may have meant something specific to the person who wrote the song, but if you take away something from a song that applies to your life, then by golly, thats what the song means. You see what im saying? But yes, this song is definately about Morality from what i gather. Key words and phrases lead to such an interpretation ... "clean" "overwhelmed" "holding back" "wont be forever" and so on and so forth. at least from my experiences , that is what i gather ... |

| wow, you guys are all off.. this song is about erica and me, and how i changed all my values for her, and now that we are no longer together, i realized what i gave up for her ,and im appalled... so i guess it could apply to being apart of the cowd... but i think can be applied on a personal level... knowing AFI it is religious , and is about morals , and the crowd= worldy people... so there is it....:) | |

wow...i speak german... and when i translated this song... it read "skirt me amadaeus" ... and i was all "wtf does that mean... and it finally took me awhile before i realized that the lyrics read "rock me amedeus" and ROCK = SKIRT in german! wow, my freind and i got a good chuckle out of that one... btw.. Beth needs to fall into a ditch and never get out for no apparent reason... (nicest way to put it) |

wow...This completely makes more sense than all your guys misled opinions of gang stuff... and even if it really is about being alienated and/or gangs... well this would be a better message to the world... i took this from another post, and thought you all would like to know the best interpretation yet.... here it is .... "this is what i think...first i know as least two of the guys in the band are christians...and on the waiting cd the back of the bus says bible baptist on it....to me this song goes out to the body of belivers..the church "lets call this the quiet city" ...the believers seem to just stay quiet in their houses.. "where screams are felt as a wave of stoplights. Drive through the streets as gunshots puntuate the night" ...they all stay inside but can obviously hear the screams of the lost and gunshots as people are dying in the streets....and well going to hell. " The sides we take divide us from our faith"....the sides of religion are stupid..all it does is divide us from our faith...when all the religion is based on one book..the bible. "and the mourning dove gets caught in the telephone wire"...the white dove..their band's symbol is a biblical symbol of the holy spirit. found in Mt.3:16 and Ge 8:8 ...these days the dove gets caught in a telephone wire.
