To me this song is about a lost/past lover that has chosen a higher class lifestyle (in my mind through men/sex/relationships) and left the writer behind... and the writer is left broken hearted.. with each thought of her they feel the pain of something that was once beautiful fragrant and in bloom that has whithered and died... with each thought of her it's like receiving dead flowers. But the love... the roses on her grave .. is honored and remembered with "rose colored glasses" and glorified in their mind. |
