Nirvana – You Know You're Right Lyrics 7 years ago
@[RTL777:25992] Yeah, he had money, fame, a wife, and a baby that he loved dearly but he also had the media putting him on this very loose pedestal, a wife that would consistently drive him to suicidal outbursts, a baby he was terrified for, debilitating physical pains, a multitude of mental illnesses, a crippling heroin addiction ,and he had suffered childhood trauma. This "drugged out midget" had a lot of reasons to be miserable, you asshole. You're clearly not too bright either, as you use Ted Nugent as a reference, and you obviously don't understand a damn thing about how reality truly fucking works. Neither do you know how Kurt preferred his life to be if you think he was all about big fancy shit

I think the meaning is pretty clear:

.

"I will never bother you. I will never promise to"

It's conflicting thoughts. He's saying that he feels like he's bothering them but he loves them so much that he can't promise to stay away

"I will never follow you. I will never bother you"

He's saying if he's there, he'll be bothering them. He'll be a burden on their existence. He won't do that anymore

"Never speak a word again. I will crawl away for good"

There's an emotional shift in his voice here. This part is about suicide. Him being gone for good.

"I will move away from here. You won't be afraid of here."

Again, he's going away. They won't be worried anymore about being in their home.

"No thought was put into this. I always knew it would come to this"

Everything he sings in this song is out of pure emotion. Nothing clever, just a clear message about something tragic that he knew was coming

"Things have never been so well, and I have never failed to feel pain"

Despite how well his life is going, he's still in a great deal of pain

"You know you're right"

It's total reassurance. He's saying 'you know that you're right about me'.

"I'm so warm, and calm inside. I no longer have to hide"

There's no reason for him to hide how he feels. He's ready to let it out

"Let's talk about someone else. Steaming soon begins to mount"

The topic turns to his wife, the one that he had been singing about, and the anger that had been building up in their relationship.

"Nothing really bothers her. She just wants to love herself"

Speaking of her insensitivity, and her yearning for self-sufficiency

"I will move away from here. You won't be afraid of here. No thought was put into into this. I always knew it'd come to this. Things have never been so swell, and I have never failed to feel pain. You know you're right"

Already covered that.

Firstly, most of these lyrics are wrong, in my opinion. Basically the song is supposed to be about addiction , and freezing the uterus.

"Praise in his pocket, the rays from his woman, he takes his owner in my tea"

This line is obviously about how heroin has taken over. Like tea, heroin is a mixture using liquids, spoons and powders.

"If I'm red, and cold as ice"

Obviously about a frozen fetus

"Wish me good, wish me light. Find me out, and see the sun through me. Just be quiet. Follow pain, and read me. Yell a wail, and if I sigh, shake me out:Teeming. If I may if I might, got a gun to bleed me"

About Kurt being in pain, and being unable to stay clean. Weening, and shit.

These are a more accurate version

If I may,
If I might,
Lay me down, weeping,
If I say
What is life?
I might be dreaming,
If I may
What is right?
Summer time, see me

Those years in his blonde head
A phrase from his pocket
Chains from the knowing life-long dream

Do Re Mi.

If I may,
If I might,
Wake me up, see me,
If I do
If I lie,
Find me out, and save me,
If I'm red
And cold as ice,
I might have to see me,

Raised in his own care ,
Erased from this moment,
The change from the socket, I will need

Do Re Mi
.
Wish me good,
Wish me light,
Finding how to seize.
Onto me
Just be quiet,
Fall on pain and read me
Yell a wail
And if I sigh,
Shake me out; teeming ,
If I may
If I might,
Got a gun to bleed- me
The praise in his pocket,
The rays from his woman,
He takes from his owner,
Am I deep?

Do Re Mi.
