The song's about a man who lost his lover. He wants to dig her up to see her again. He finds her but she's in bad shape. A year of death will do that. He kisses her "takes what's left" meaning he sleeps with her. The bell is the shaft of the penis, and the stones are the testicles. Stones/balls are often equated to guts or nerves. Only he can translate if he's brave enough to do what needs to be done. The rooster (his penis) is unsure, or "on the fence" about the whole thing. Maybe I should %^&* a corpse, maybe I shouldn't. The roosters comes around though. In fact, the curse of the morning rooster symbolizes morning wood. Ready for round 2. |
