Good news for anyone sad that there is no more American Football because frontman, Mike Kinsella, has gone solo and made a one man band Owen. With many of the similar sounds of American Football, Owen is no let down. I love Owen just as much as American Football |

Well now I see we have emo fans arguing about emo and what is emo and what isn't emo...nice Just because a band doesn't intend on being an emo band dosen't mean they can't be considered emo. Emo should not be confined to a certain sound because it is the variation of influnces from different people that makes the music interesting and personal. If bands are just copying a sound they already heard it can be good, but does it really mean as much? The best bands are the ones that can connect with their audiences on an emotional level and use their own style. The best artists don't strive for a label as punk or emo or w/e, they just do what seems right to them, and if their fans call it emo then so be it.
Another comment to add for one*name*famous about songs without lyrics or very little, check out American Football or Owen. Innovative music that moves me without saying much at all. |

Ok it really pisses me off when people hate on emo. What did emo ever do to you. You're the one that needs to grow up. Look...everyone feels sad or despressed at one time or another and everyone deals with it in different ways. Just because some people choose to express this saddness throuigh music doesn't mean they are crybabies. Emo kids are not sad all the time and I think there emotional side makes them very aware of the world around them. So for all you emo haters out there, shut up, because you don't even know what it's about.... |
