| This song has a very different meaning for me, something that very few can fully understand. In 1st grade I was bullied(so are thousands who cares) the difference was this was purely emotional. The entire grade acted as if I was trying to kill them with a knife. I had zero friends and my genius hurt me even more. It made me ask why me, what did I do to deserve even a fraction of this torture. The answer was they did this to me for fun but I only realized that 10 years later. These questions drove me into mental insanity. Now when I read the lyrics I realized this perfectly describes my life from 1st grade to 8th grade. I think the verse that proves this best is the second one. After not being accepted as an ordinary person I tried to mimic several different personalities. All of which were still met with hate. Which corresponds to the 2 lines “label me that’s fine I’ll be somebody else, lie about my life has a story to tell”. The rest corresponds with me (being a psychotic 7 year) contemplating going in with a knife and killing all my perpatraters. The last line is “ two faced liar you think you know me deceit brings fire make sure you can’t breathe”. Everyone in the grade thought they knew me as some unpopular kid that no one likes no emotion no kindness no empathy no sympathy why bother help him. At that age I was extremely kind though no one bothered to find the true me. In time(3 years of this torture) all the good qualities I had died. And one last thing to the girl who started it all. Margaret Mallet, if you ever see this for whatever reason, go fucking kill yourself you heartless piece of shit. | |

@[RuRoRul:23964] Definitely agree about Vietnam so many subtle references. One is 2 million soldiers. there were approximately 2.7 million that served in Vietnam from America. Another subtle one is I'm far from home and I'm fighting your war and I'll walk your land but don't belong refer to the biggest conflict in America about this war: it was never our war to join. there was no worldwide threat. nothing impacting America. we just decided to go to Vietnam in the middle of their civil war and fight for the losing side. we had no right to be there and in the end, we just left. we did not lose, we just left because it was never our fight in the first place. Finally, in the line, A murderer walks your street tonight Forgive me for my crimes this is a reference to how the people who came back from Vietnam were hated for their actions even though it was not their fault. all they did was follow orders from superiors. |
