@[max1091460:23947] Hercules' Eleventh Labor required him to steal the Apples of Hesperides, given by Hera to Zeus as a gift. The apples got their name from the Hesperides, nymphs and daughters of the Titan Atlas. After fighting several other demigods, Hercules came to the Titan Prometheus and killed the eagle of Zeus. In gratitude, Prometheus told Hercules where the apples were hidden. With this information, Hercules went to Atlas and offered to hold the sky for him in exchange for the apples. Atlas agreed and retrieved the apples, but he tried to betray Hercules, much to his own detriment. Although he didn't have the strength of a Titan, he had more than twice the cunning and tricked Atlas into taking the sky back. |
