Queens of the Stone Age – Hideaway Lyrics 8 years ago
@[Yaidin:24139] That's a good read but I decipher it differently. This song to me is a mash up of Metallica's Master of Puppets and David Bowie's Ashes to Ashes - it's about drug addiction and the power it weaves. This song, like Master of Puppets, speaks from the POV of the drug / drug dealer - "Start crawling faster - obey your master" and from the point of view of the addict in Ashes to Ashes "Time and again I tell myself I'll stay clean tonight". Homme says "Catch the keys and take the wheel and drive for a while" is the addict opening the door to drugs to mask his short-term pain. The drug / drug dealer portion is the chorus -
"You'll stay fast and lonely
Never ever need to run and hide from me
New prey, soft and easy, entangled forever in my arms
You owe me everything
You owe me everything"
Then, the end with the repeated lines of "You'll Feel Love" is the drug convincing the addict that they need nothing else but it. Finally "Who needs Love?" is the addict completely giving into the drug.

Heavy stuff.

Queens of the Stone Age – Un-Reborn Again Lyrics 8 years ago
There is a ton going on in this song and I haven't picked up all of it. However, I believe this song is about famous people being completely out of touch and swallowed up in their own ego that they will do anything to keep their fame and fortune. "Frozen in pose, locked up in amber eternally" means to me someone famous posing in a picture of movie and being immortalized by the public in that moment which would allow that person to live that moment forever.
