| The Beatles – There's a Place Lyrics | 8 years ago |
| This is a John Lennon song. As i get older, I realize that, as much as I love McCartney's songs, Lennon was a fabulous composer, particularly his early songs, and then, later in his career (IN MY LIFE, IMAGINE). We find the same thing with George Harrison, i.e., WHILE MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS, HERE COMES THE SUN, SOMETHING, MY SWEET LORD and WHAT IS LIFE. There is no question: this was some kind of group! | |
| The Beatles – Nowhere Man Lyrics | 8 years ago |

Lennon always claimed Nowhere Man was about him. Frankly, I think he was refering to his father, who abandoned the family when John was 7 and later contacted his son for financial help when Lennon was a famous Beatle. They met on a park bench and Lennon listened to his father describe his destitution. "I'll help you for seven years, Dad," Lennon told his father. "That's how long you stayed with Mother." |
