Killswitch Engage – Always Lyrics 8 years ago
This song is not about God. I can see how it can be interpreted as such especially since it has a direct bible quote in it. This wonderful song is about family members passing away and the remaining coping with their deaths. The music video helps explain this meaning. It’s about two brothers taking a long road trip after finding out the older one has cancer. After his brother passed away from the horrid illness, the younger brother takes the same road trip again to relive the memories. That’s why you see two different perspectives through the video and also the signicance of the camera.

“The memories of all that remains
As far as east is from the west, remember”

“The memories of all that remains” is the brother reliving the experiences himself and his deceased brother had during the trip and I think the Bible quote was thrown in there as a double meaning. The lead singer, Jesse, is Christian so it goes with his faith and also the road trip could have spand the east coast to west coast/vise-versa and the “remember” ending is saying remember the memories they had.
