Peter's reason is money and the devil. But the prior reviewer that also comments about's about his battle with himself is spot on. The song documents Peter's mental health problems veering out of control to the point where those LSD trips are causing hallucinations and destroying his ability to function. I've always said this is Hellhound On My Trail, but without just the metaphor and symbolism. The Green Manalishi is a musical document of someone losing their sanity. Probably the most musical documentation of that you'll ever hear. Scary piece. |
