During the "random" noises in the first four minutes...if you listening closely around the 3:16 mark...you can hear another noise in the background whispering "Vismund" |

Also I wanted to add that its no coincidence that "Hoods on Peregrine" about the media deceiving the public comes right after this song on the album. |

This song pretty much single handedly made me anti-war. It's about how gov'ts (specifical America) rush into war, killing 100s of 1000s of people and don't think twice about.
"They light the world on fire, just to watch it burn" is a reference to these wars. The Iraqi war is a great example - iraq had nothing to do with 9-11, had no weapons of mass destruction and we just went in there with nothing to gain because Bush wanted Saddam overthrown (see Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 911 and the new book "Imperial Hubris" coming out 8/1/04).
"We paid the price, we paid for their crimes with our blood and our lives" - a line that almost brings me to tears whenever I hear it and think about it's reality - is a reference to us, the citizens of America who die in wars and experience their family and friends die because of the crimes of unjustified wars. |

| AFI – The Boy Who Destroyed The World Lyrics

I believe that this song is about suicide.
"Will you wrap your arms around me as I'm falling?" means he's looking for something to save him from despair and "I now feel more desperately alone, even though they wrapped their arms around me as I'd fallen." is him not being able to find anything to save him eventhough there are people who do love him.
"he would never know that they were filled with regret as their own dissipated " - everyone is upset about his death, but he can never know that and never knew what he meant to everyone
Even the title has elements of this.. "The Boy Who Destroyed the World" - because he destroyed the lives of all who loved him. |

This is the best song on CD and possibly best of Eminem's career. Anyone who doesn't like it is just afraid of life and whats real. |

I think this song is about the masses being control by a few and the masses trying to revolt against the controlling government. The "Light Post" is the controlling government because it "owns the working class." The ships represent the masses of common people |

I don't think people realize that AFI and the Offspring are friends, its not like the Offspring just randomly covered this song, and a cover is supposed to be a band making another song their own. Whatever you think AFI is a great band with profound lyrics, they just keep getting better witha ge too |
