This was the first song of Melissa's I ever heard...this song is pretty much the reason I am a huge fan of hers. The whole album "Freedom is seriously one of the best ever made. And this is the sexiest song ever written and recorded. The lyrics are only part of the reason why this is such a sexy song - it really comes to life with the deep, sensual guitar and Melissa's raw voice. The way she sings it, you know she means every single word. Like, damn, Melissa. |

I love this song, and really, the entire album "The Other Side" is great, too. I don't really know a lot of people who like Melissa Ferrick, and the people I know who have heard her music don't like it. Maybe it's just because I like her sound more (especially songs like this, with heavy, melancholy guitar), but I also think it's her voice. I personally like her voice, I can hear a lot of emotion in it, but it's also very unique. I love unique voices, but I think in general, people appreciate a unique voice when it's from a man and not a woman. Maybe I'm just grasping at straws here, but I can easily see how a lot of people would not like her voice because it's not really pretty, it's just unique. |
