I think you're half right but I disagree with the part about advocating violence to defend yourself. I don't believe they are promoting that kind of thinking in this song at all. In fact they are promoting the opposite, they are pointing out the naivety of middle class socialists clamoring for revolution without realizing it's consequences. i.e. it's a critique of ANTIFA types who think punching Nazis can be justified just because they have a different opinion. They seem to be aware of how communism has been tried before and that we as a population should never fall for the glorified propaganda that has lead to totalitarian regimes forming in the past. |

@[jtothed1031:23263] This is a song warning about the dangers of totalitarianism and how leftist education systems are glorifying revolution without warning of the real life consequences. Remember communism and fascism are both left wing ideologies that focus on COLLECTIVISM. Punk was about INDIVIDUALISM. The sworn enemy of both communism and fascism alike. |

@[carolinahaze:23262] I think it's a critique of "radicals" in general. Radicalism, no matter who advocates it is inherently dangerous. This song warns of what can happen when you try to overthrow systems that work. It asks the listener sincerely whether they wish to live in Capitalist America with it's few faults or Communist Cambodia, the genocidal dictatorship. I think the message of this song can be summed up with this Churchill quote: "Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the others." |

I think this song is just a general criticism of liberal B.S. tbh. The main theme of the song is the dangers of far left propaganda and how it can bring about millions of deaths when ushered in by ignorance. And yes, I also grow tired of this idea of multiculturalism. Jazz, a Negroid invention is an inherently structureless and less intelligent musical expression to classical, the superior Caucasoid invention. The races should stick to their own kind of expression. I find it sad that so many whites are lowering themselves to Negroid forms of expression such as Jazz and Rap at the expense of the true artistry they are capable of. Not sure to what extent this song is about that as DK weren't particularly musically proficient but I always got the impression they were proud of American culture as a band and would be aghast at how it is being eroded in the 21st century. |

@[BitterGenXer:23261] You are right, this song is a criticism of faux revolutionary communists produced by the leftist education system. It is a warning of the dangers of far left ideology that has lead to millions of deaths worldwide. Communists and Nazis are both left wing ideologies and both were criticized by DK. Capitalism may not be perfect but it is the best system we have, communism and fascism have both failed. We don't need brainwashed college graduates bringing about totalitarianism through their ignorance. |

@[ConCass:23259] Very true, it's also worth nothing that both Communism and Nazism are actually far left ideologies as they revolve around treating people as collectives, not individuals. They also promise economic equality through redistribution of wealth and the destruction of capitalism. DK were VERY critical of far left ideology. |

This is a song criticizing the naivety of far left ideology and the Marxist education system that indoctrinates students into becoming sit at home slacktivists. DK were very critical of all far left ideologies whether it was Nazism or Communism. And yes, those ideologies are both left wing. Both Nazism and Communism are types of fascism that rely on judging people as collectives and this is what leads to genocide. If only brainwashed college kids had seen the atrocities of Cambodia, Soviet Russia and Nazi Germany for themselves they would realize that revolutionary leftist ideology only leads to millions of deaths. This is what the song is criticizing, it is a celebration of individualism and critical thinking over faux-revolutionary collectivism. |
