This song was direct shade/read of Clive Davis. Kelly wanted her song "Because of You" on her first record. Clive didn't want any of her songs she wrote beause he told her she was a "shitty writer" and that nothing rhymes, she should be grateful for the gifts he bestowed upon her. Clive literally told her "shut up and sing." She cried infront of him. Of course Clive says it was because Kelly didn't want to sing "Since U Been Gone" and she cried. This song was a huge middle finger to Clive Davis and RCA. |
