| Breaking Benjamin – Evil Angel Lyrics | 7 years ago |

What if Evil Angel is heroin? May who turn to substance abuse are looking to self medicate or to escape. It makes it easier to live in the halls of your own mind. Then they will band together, helping each other use since the world shuns their choices. Then they take to much, stop breathing, and finally sleep. The sad part for many is even after they OD, they will still find comfort in their DOC. I knew a lady briefly that kept one vein on her forearm healthy. Before shooting up she would circle it with sharpie and write "insert IV here". She knew it could kill her, and still could not stop. |

| For me it could even be one step further than a loved one dying. Watching someone wrestle with the decision to terminate life support can be heart-wrenching. They know intellectually that the person is gone, but how do they make that final choice? Then it seems impossible to leave once the choice has been made. | |

For me it is rather simple. This is the loneliness that continues even when you have a partner. No matter how they hold you, the empty does not seem to fill up. We are told from a young age that we will find someone who completes us. How long do we have to wait? "And tell me how long Before the right one? The story is old, I know But it goes on The story is old, I know But it goes on" |

One of the best songs ever. For me it was about the headlong rush toward destruction. When you feel empty you take any crutch you can (in this case tequila) and use that to go toward anything to wake yourself up. The storm down in Mexico. Pure power and force that will either cleanse you or drown you. I feel like for whoever this song is about it would not matter which. You drive as long as you can, just trying to get closer, even as your support network starts breaking down. The speedometer is losing track of just how far down the rabbit hole you have gone. Besides, the journey doesn't matter, just the ending. Feeling the raindrops just egg you on. When the truck stops, the network breaks, then it is time to continue on. Part of that is crossing the point of no return. You can't come back from the desert, you had to drive to long to get there. So is it possible to walk until you feel the energy needed to wake up? |

I have always thought this song was about any relationship when handling mental illness. We try to conform, we try to be like everyone else, even though the roll does not fit. The soaring, the running away, all sound like a manic phase to me, but they never last.. They leave you beaten and broken. Anyone who has had a full manic episode will understand that it can feel like rapture, even when we know it is false. And why would we want to be chained. Unfortunately, when that high dies, then we are stuck inside, "holding on to splitting seams". Those around us all need thing, they want to make judgments and offer advise, most of which is not even close to applicable. That would be "take your piece and leave me alone to die." The last verse is simple. It is when we finally find our own peace. |

| Best marriage song ever. I feel this is about the other person, the one who does their best to give us perspective, to help us see how far we have come. This is what healthy relationships strive to be, mutual support and understanding to keep your partner from crumbling to sand. | |
| Passenger – Wicked Man's Rest Lyrics | 8 years ago |
| Welcome to the fight inside. This is in all of us. This is the whispers and screams reaching forward from the shadows of our mind. It is the lies we tell ourselves to make life bearable, and all the dirty things we do hoping to feel better. It is also the part that forces us to give these things up and to strive to be better. | |

Welcome to the life of every man who carries the burden of his family with him. We carry our wife, for she "breaks and she bends". Our children laugh and ridicule us. We are told not to break, not to cry, not to say the load is too heavy. We add more and more weight to our backs, knowing that the load will never lighten. Then, some time later, when it seems that it has become to much, you look around for someone to talk to, some way to share the load, or at least receive some support, and you notice that no one is there. it is a song about never being enough for what you think you need to be, and those who depend on you want you to carry just one more thing. It is not about giving up, but about taking on the extra because no one else will, even if it breaks you. |
