Oops, I forgot something. Correction to one of the parts: [Him talking to "God"] Stand up and run Stand up and run Stand up and run Stand up and run Into my heart [/Him talking to "God"] [Him talking to us] Can't you see there is not logic to love? And we're lost just like the stars up above [/Him talking to us] [Him talking to "God" If I'd only known how you'd make me feel I would kiss the ground that touches your heel [/Him talking to "God"] |

I think some of these lyrics might be wrong...I'll use the lyrics that I think are right in my explanation. On the surface, it seems like it might be about a person that he had a falling out with and their reconciliation. But I think it might go deeper too. He might be talking about his relationship with "God", for lack of a better word. The song seems to switch back and forth between him and a personification of "God". [Him talking to "God"] Oh I had a feeling Buried inside Covered beneath a Blanket of pride Oh I couldn't tell you How my heart felt inside In so little time [/Him talking to "God"] ["God" talking to him] Stand up and run Stand up and run Stand up and run Stand up and run Into my arms Chasing the bright lights This city got old You walked out of my life And into the cold It's hard to imagine that you'd Never come home Forever alone Stand up and run Stand up and run Stand up and run Stand up and run Into my arms [/"God" talking to him] [Him talking to "God"] Stand up and run Stand up and run Stand up and run Stand up and run Into my heart Can't you see there is not logic to love? And we're lost just like the stars up above If I'd only known how you'd make me feel I would kiss the ground that touches your heel [/Him talking to "God"] ["God" talking to him] After all these years of being apart Don't let reason try to tear us apart If the compass breaks then follow your heart And I hope it leads your right back into my arms [/"God" talking to him] [Could either one of them talking, except for the "Stand up and run", which is "God"] (Stand up and run) And the time has past (Stand up and run) We'll still make it last (Stand up and run) [/Could either one of them talking, except for the "Stand up and run", which is "God"] ["God" talking to him] And I hope this leads you right back into my arms Oh into my arms [/"God" talking to him] [Could be either one of them talking. Either he's just repeating it, or maybe it's "God" saying he had a feeling that he'd be back.] Oh I had a feeling Buried inside [/Could be either one of them talking. Either he's just repeating it, or maybe it's "God" saying he had a feeling that he'd be back.] Like a lot of people, he probably went through a stage in his life where reason and logic were of the utmost importance. While crucial, there's something missing from that. Usually it's something logic and reason can't effectively explain. You can only really put your finger on it once you've felt it. Eventually, if you're paying attention, you might discover what it is to you and have a chance for reconciliation. |
