My favorite song by them. To me, a critique of race relations. A lot of talk, but it always runs deeper than talk. In the end, the fear and tribal instinct always seems to win. We can't be the people we wanted to be. This is a primal nihilistic and fatalistic undercurrent in 90s music, which is also what makes it honest. "We tried to talk about it, but look where all this talking got us, baby?" |
