| Audioslave – Like a Stone Lyrics | 7 years ago |
| It is a love song! The whole song is about heaven and what his heaven would be: a day when the sky was bruised and the wine was red at his girls house. And if he dies before her or that's not her heaven he doesn't care he'll wait there forever like a stone. | |

| This song has nothing to do with sexual orientation. It's about extreme personality types. It's like one of my favorite sayings "what you see is what you get, deal with it". To make it some kind of LGBTQ anthem is disingenuous. Though if you are the gayest of the gay, that would be an extreme. I think people forget that queer and gay mean totally different things to European's and the rest of the english speaking world. If you say fat in Europe you're asking for a cigarette. | |

@[donald209:22952] She actually did write the song. She used the words from a back and forth fantasy relationship (her words) with a fan. The words of the song come from the letters they wrote back and forth to each other. Some his, some hers. The guy sued her for song writting credits but hung himself the day before it was to go before civil court. These are the parts written by Sarah to the "fake lover not visa versa. Listen as the wind blows From across the great divide Voices trapped in yearning Memories trapped in time The night is my companion And solitude my guide Would I spend forever here And not be satisfied These are Sarah's words not his. She likely was fealing dissatisfied with her life and relationship. Anybody who knows her also knows shes a restless woman when it comes to the men in her life. Through this world I've stumbled So many times betrayed, Trying to find an honest word, To find the truth enslaved, Oh you speak to me in riddles and You speak to me in rhymes My body aches to breathe your breath, Your words keep me alive These are also Sarah's words She was flattered by his poetry and likely in a very lonely place. Into this night I wander, It's morning that I dread, Another day of knowing of The path I fear to tread, Oh, into the sea of waking dreams I follow without pride, Nothing stands between us here And I won't be denied These are also Sarah's words. She feels safe with this guy as long as it's in dreams and letters. As long as it's a fantasy. The only lyrics in the song by the guy is the chorus which you got correct as to the meaning. He wanted to own her. I believe that had she not answered his letters and had this "fantasy affair" with him he would have actually stalked her and possibly hurt her. |
