Jane's Addiction – Ain't No Right Lyrics 3 years ago
My friend and I back in the 90s would have this song in our head while trying to max out skiing a mogul field. For those that don\'t ski that means going straight down the hill bouncing off stuff and trying to do tricks while you fly in the air.\n\nThere aint no right solution to that. Only pleasure and pain. \n\nFor anyone that doubts the pursuit, get your piss cup out of my face. :)

In Flames – Crawl Through Knives Lyrics 8 years ago
My take on this song's meaning from the perspective of a husband with children:

A lot of nights when work is over you want to just relax and enjoy family time. However, most of the time in a marriage (mine anyway) there are unspoken problems and unsolved challenges. You can relax and enjoy each other as a family, or try to work on the problems. Often working on the problems causes conflict and ruins the night.

So you have to make the call: work on the hard problems, or enjoy the moment. It is for you to decide if flames will reach heaven tonight.

The Cowboy Junkies – Hollow as a Bone Lyrics 8 years ago
This is one of "our songs" with my wife and I. We did 3 years (really) long distance dating in our early 20s with me in Paris and her in Phoenix. In the times between seeing each other you never really know what the heck to think of the relationship, you just know without it you would feel as hollow as a bone.

The reunions, departures, the roller coaster ride between feeling empty and feeling a state of grace together is tough to describe. This song comes close. When you are together you make the most of the time late into the night, then sleep the best exhausted sleep until the morning comes and you make the most of it again. Then you have to say a thousand goodbyes again and be apart.

We're celebrating our 15th anniversary soon. Together our lives have been sewn.
