@[Envyash:22848] I'm going to agree with your interpretation of the basic theme. "All that's left is memory" If everything is gone there can't be anyone to remember what was lost. Memory as in computer memory. All that's left is data, an attempt to emulate the mind. "All the time they lie to me, they suffocate All the time they're suffering When will it end?" They lie to people to promote and sell this new technology, or even deceive themselves into thinking they're benefiting from it. Not necessarily a trans-humanism or sci-fi exclusive statement. Could be relevant to all kinds of technology we have today that's supposed to make life easier but has the potential to make us more miserable. While life becomes easier, people become weak and sedentary, they read songmeanings on the internet instead of spending more time outside and ruin the environment to sustain the technology that enables them to hear the bad news about it on TV. "Kill for pleasure Seven wonders of our history Endless pleasure Satisfaction is reality Careful pleasure No protection of ancestry Guilty pleasure" That's the song's conclusion of blindly embracing technology. Instead of a tool that makes life more enjoyable by extension of how it helps us, we eventually find a way to trigger our pleasure sense directly. It becomes an endless reality of pleasure with nothing else, existing mindlessly except for the permanent ecstasy experienced. |
