Darlia – Animal Kingdom Lyrics 8 years ago
I believe this song expresses interest in a relationship that is unavailable or forbidden. The first verse suggests a confronting situation, possibly of a romantic nature. The last phrase of this verse is quite pessimistic, and leads me to believe that that the thoughts of the unrealistic relationship have been harboured for quite some time:

"Tiger in my arms, should I be alarmed, should I freeze?
"Or should I realise that this is life and how it should be?"

The second verse indicates distance, denial and jealousy.
It suggests that there is distance or difference between the two individuals, and that they aren't quite compatible with each other.

"Standing on a hill looking back at you wondering why.
Do you have to serve or do you just prefer to come out at night"

The last verse suggests vocalist has accepted that the relationship is unrealistic; yet still has strong feelings for the other individual that cannot be fulfilled or recognised in a conventional way.

"Message from a dove came from up above I read it out.
Yeah it said its such a powerful love but it's not a love that's allowed."

I'm not entirely sure how the chorus ties in with the entire song, but I'd love to hear how other people interpret this fantastic song by this incredible band.
