August 1997 Veruca Salt and Foo Fighters both in Europe all Month. "Summer of Sin" Everyone says that Taylor Hawkins is Dave's younger twin. Brian Richie was in the "Violent Femmes" so this is a reference to Dave & Taylor and goes along with the "gay" reference at the start of the song and the twins reference. |

This song was written in 1996 before the Break up, Just some facts. 1) Foo fighters played the Phoenix Festival in Stratford-upon-Avon July 19 1996. Bristol is the closest city to that. 2) Amid the tour, Foo Fighters filmed the MTV special I'm OK, Eur-OK: Foo Fighters Live in London. and had various other dates in Europe that meant they were in London that summer. 3) Lyrics Foo Fighters "New Way Home" = "her/your way home" The Colour & The Shape written same time as 8 arms to hold you. 4) You Monkey you left me, is not about breakup its about separating back on tour and being apart not by choice. |
