I see this as a guy who was dumped and is trying to talk himself into believing that he wasn't in love with the woman, but he really was. He says that she always dumps guys after a month or 2, and he knew that before getting deeply involved. But that is not necessarily true. This is an attempt to to save his own pride rather than admit that maybe she isn't like that. But she just didn't like him personally that much. Then he gets drunk saying that he was not in love. But he really was. Then he finally decides to swallow his pride and admit that he was in love, and to cry it out in order to move on. It is one of my favorite songs. Great use of instruments particularly horns and keyboards, and great background vocals. |

| Brian Jones was extremely talented. It is such a shame that drugs got the best of him. I'll leave the interpretation of this song to others, but it is one hell of a great song largely due to Brian. It would have been a good fit for Their Satanic Magesty's Request. | |
