| Low Shoulder – Through The Trees Lyrics | 8 years ago |
|
I believe it's about the death of a loved one. The 'mistake' and 'broken glass' sounds like maybe it was a car wreck? Maybe while intoxicated? There's an overwhelming sense of guilt and grief... but what he -really- wants is to remember the love that they shared instead of the pain. He uses trees that they planted together (seeds grow, leaf show) as a visceral way to connect. 'Through the trees' isn't a physical act of walking or seeing someone -between- trees, but remembering them by way of what they left behind together. If he can find the love instead of the pain/guilt, he can forgive himself for their death and him still being alive. |
