The chorus is very meaningful to the song title. "You're just like Mike Love but you wanna be Brian Wilson" Mike Love and Brian Wilson were both influential members of the Beach Boys. Mike Love was a renowned douche whose lyrics were repetitive and uninspired. He was the lead singer but every knew that he had nothing to do with the actual creation of the song. Brian, on the other hand, was a genius who created the beautiful harmonies. He orchestrated some of the Beach Boys' most popular and amazing songs. The crazy=genius comes in because Brian started suffering from mental illness very early on in his career. It caused him to leave the stage and stay at home to write music. A number of test methods and abused meds that happened to him left him more than a little brain damaged. Through all of this, he still created ground breaking music. |
