that's a great comment & pretty similar to my experience although that now goes back almost 40 years ago!! I still have our 2 voices on an old tape cassette but makes me sad when i hear it since we were so young & it was just a precious moment in time when nothing else but us seemed to matter, and now i'm much older & time has slipped away . As you say at least i had the experience & i wish her well now where ever she is. This song just takes me back to that time & my experience of first love, although she broke my heart. The fade out song ending reminds me of breezy clear dreamlike summer evenings. |

I love this song & always come back to it. I came across it in an episode of "Skins" on C4, when Tony remembers how to write again after a car accident. To me it's about a lost 1st love & that these special moments are soo rare in your life but they are beautiful & always stay with you, even when you're old. The bit at the end "Whistle through your window..." is just brilliant. The drumming too is amazing. What a great band, wish I'd seen them live or if I'd met them I could have shook their hands. There is also a great acoustic version of the song. I don't agree with a previous comment which suggests that a remix of the track by the twelves is better. I checked it out on utube & it definitely isn't better than the original (how could it be?). |
