The Last Shadow Puppets – Miracle Aligner Lyrics 21 days ago
Miracle aligner is about crossing the roads to meet the angel/demon (devil?).. pleading and beggining on his knees to reach that engagement in order to make a deal "he can find you anything you need". When the ecounter finally does happen it's only under nefarious circumstanes; "our exchanges are by candle light" "walk through the walls and creep up behind" suggesting 'he' is a noncoporeal entity. The games begin when the writer is lulled into a sense of comfort of no longer being 'lost' or 'outside' and that the visitor is ethereal-something beyond our realm of understanding. The miracle aligner is 'humble' yet wouldn't deny "he was born to blow your mind" suggest that I'm just kidding it's about a drug dealer

Bright Eyes – Lime Tree Lyrics 8 years ago
I've listened to this song thousands of times and have always thought it must be about abortion.. but I have possible reason to believe that it may be written about creation of Adam and Eve, thus the abandonment of God (written subjectively from his/her perspective) When you create beings so beautiful that can split into fragments of something you can never really touch or become..man/woman/conception .. "some are ripe and some are rotten" (some are evil and some are good) The heartbreak (nausea) of this realization led to the Initial abondonment and unending questions about the infinite creation of time. It's just as hard to understand the concept of eternity. The use of natural metaphors (mountains/rivers) suggest sacrifice and desperate understanding to the one thing that was loved most (creation of men/women) "standing on a doorstep full of nervous butterfly's"(the true meaning of innocence) There is no definition of what was real until humans came into existence.

This song can be about failure to understand the beauty of creation.. which works with abortion, Adam and Eve, or the way Conor feels about his own beautiful imagination .. blah blah.
