Justin Bieber – Love Yourself Lyrics 8 years ago
I don't think this song is based on a relationship with a girl, but with a relationship with oneself. Early in his Career Justin Bieber made bad decisions and wants to move on but can't because the past keeps on haunting him. He's just telling his former self to leave and go away. Either Bieber is a very thoughtful person or he is a great songwriter and doesn't know it.

Bastille – Pompeii Lyrics 8 years ago
I think that this song is about how, as humans, we try and plan out our lives and make our lives completely planned out and perfect, but we do not realize that life does not work out as planned and can completely change when tragedy hits in result of the choices we make. At the beginning of the song Daniel Smith Writes
"I was left to my own devices". (The life that the subject has planned through his actions)
"And the walls kept tumbling down in the city that we love," (The perfect life the subject has planned in being ruined)In the chorus Smith also writes, "
But if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like
Nothing changed at all?
And if you close your eyes,
Does it almost feel like
You've been here before?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?" (The subject does not want to accept life, he just wants to close his eyes and act like nothing has changed)
In the second verse Smith writes, "In your pose as the dust settled around us," (The subject does not know where to go from here)
Also Smith Writes, "Oh, where do we begin, the rubble of our sins" (The subject has no idea of what he should do.)
These are my thoughts on the song Pompeii by Bastille
